We were unable to get before pictures of the area. Before we started the area looked similar to the woods above.

A natural bench was constructed of large stones. The creek bed was installed with typar underneath to prevent weeds. Groundcover will eventually cover the mulched area.

The creek extends to the river below.

The back yard was mostly unusable. The owner, an avid gardener, wanted to be able to access the larger part of the yard located at the top of the steep wooden steps. They also wanted a waterfall to be constructed in the retaining wall.

Graceful stone steps now lead the way to the perennial garden above. Stone shelves in the wall make a home for potted plants. The low retaining wall provides additional seating for guest.

The view from above.

The waterfall.

Winter interest.
The client wanted a water feature in their back yard.
Large stones were used to build up the back side of the pond.

The old pond is in the left corner of this picture.
The Threadleaf Maple and Norway Spruce were transplanted to allow for expansion of the patio.

The pond now extends almost to the woods.

This view shows both waterfalls.

The small rocks in the center of the pond direct the water to the second waterfall.

The bio-filter is located under the large flat stones. The large boulder on the right is fake. It can easily be moved to clean the bio-filter.

This small pond was created for the client's love of water plants.

This wood deck is outdated.

The new paver patio complements the brick house. A small pond and waterfall complement the landscape.
